WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR SUMMER CAMP

 

WHEN, WHERE, WHAT

This year summer camp will be July 14th – July 18th (Monday-Friday) at Old Oak Ranch in Sonora. At camp students have daily sessions of worship, messages, small group time, team games, outdoor activities (high ropes, paintball, archery, basketball, swimming, arcade, corn hole, 8 square, etc.) and have 3 meals a day, plus a snack bar for late night snacking.

The most impactful thing about camp is the time the students get when they step away from the distractions of life, their phones and they get to encounter Jesus in a new way, learn more about him, worship with hundreds of other youth, make new friends, and get close to the ones in their youth group. It truly is a marker in a students journey with Jesus, one they never forget.

 

FUNDRAISING

We know the cost of summer camp can be stressful for families and this is why we fundraise each year to help students go to camp that want to go to camp. this year we will be doing the following: Selling Steadfast Merch in the month of April, in the month of May all proceeds from The Way Cafe at the church will go towards summer camp (students will get to serve drinks during this month), students who sign-up to serve at our KIDS VBS this summer will earn credit towards their camp fees, and lastly we reach out to the congregation to help with student scholarships.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS

We offer full and partial scholarships for all students that apply. You can find the scholarship application attached to your students camp application. We do require that each student does complete the deposit of $75 requested to secure their spot for summer camp. Once your students camp and scholarship application are turned in, we review the request based on what is needed and what we can provide based on funds we have raised and have been donated.

 

CAN A PARENT GO AS A LEADER?

Yes! We are always looking for more leaders to invest in our students. Pastor Jason will meet with you and confirm with your student that they are good with you going as a leader. If that is a go, Pastor Jason will then need you to complete a background check and child safety online training.

 

HOW DO I MAKE A PAYMENT?

You can make your deposit and any additional payments with cash, check (made out to Valley Christian Center), or you can pay online with the button below. Just select ‘Winter/Summer Camp Payment’ in the give drop down and insert your amount you are submitting payment for.
